What is concrete cutting?

Concrete cutting is the process of controlled cutting of reinforced concrete and/or precast concrete; aged concrete is more difficult and harder to cut.  It involves a variety of techniques to cut large, square or rectangular shaped incisions into concrete slabs and is a very common procedure in the building and construction industry.

What is core drilling?

Core drilling is the drilling of clean, smooth, precise, circular holes in a concrete surface and removing a cylinder of concrete, a core, from the structure. This is the best method for testing concrete.  If the concrete in a structure is presenting with scaling, leaching or patterned cracking it suggests that the quality of the concrete has weakened and core drilling may be the next step.

What is diamond core drilling?

Diamond core drilling is a type of core drilling, primarily of concrete, using a rotary drill with a diamond bit attached – it offers precision cutting creating accurately measured holes.  This method of core drilling is relatively quiet, produces very little dust and because it provides precision cutting, there is less chance of damage that could affect a structure’s integrity.
