Christmas Island Phosphates Mine
Concrete Condition Survey
Christmas Island Phosphates

Description
The Christmas Island Phosphates Mine, located in the Indian Ocean approximately 2600 kms northwest of Perth, has been in operation for more than 100 years and is a leading producer of phosphate rock in the South East Asian region. In May of 2017, Christmas Island Phosphates engaged BUSS to conduct an inspection of some of its key areas of infrastructure, including the various walls of the Rock Bins and Tunnels at the Port Facility on Christmas Island. BUSS conducted a technical concrete condition survey of the existing mine infrastructure to evaluate the extent and cause(s) of deterioration and to provide a repair strategy. Multiple survey techniques were employed in the provision of a detailed technical report, complete with high quality photographic evidence and an extensive Bill of Repairs.
