Mount Claremont Primary School
Concrete Repair
Programmed

Description
The Mount Claremont Primary School, located approximately 8 km from the Perth CBD in the western suburbs, opened to the public education system in 1917. Various walkways and stairs had become a safety hazard for students and school personnel due to extensive concrete damage to multiple areas.
In late 2017 Buss were engaged by Programmed, on behalf of the Department of Education, to undertake the “make safe” remedial concrete repairs to the affected areas.
The work scope was executed by BUSS concrete repair specialists who saw cut the perimeter of each of the concrete defects, ensuring a neat finish, and then proceeded to break out and remove the damaged concrete. The exposed reinforcing steel was cleaned and an anti-corrosion coating applied, prior to the installation of a high-quality concrete repair mortar using a form and pour technique. The repair areas were then smoothed to ensure the finish matched the existing and a non-slip coating was applied throughout.
