Seashell Apartments
Torch-On Waterproofing
Stable Commercial

Description
Located on The Esplanade at Scarborough, Seashells Apartment Complex comprises of long-term and short term stays. Having experienced ongoing water ingress issues in the courtyard and pool area for many years, the owners engaged BUSS to complete the necessary repairs and to replace the failed waterproofing membrane system.
The work scope involved removal of the existing pavers, sand and geotextile cloth that covered the slab and the repair of the affected area. Upon discovering that a double layer of a torch-on waterproofing membrane had been applied to the substrate and a bitumen primer incorporated into the existing slab, BUSS was required to mechanically remove the failed membrane system. Once the slab was ground back to bare concrete, the affected area (approximately 130lm) was identified and repaired prior to the installation of the new waterproofing system.
The efficiency and experience of the BUSS team were clearly exhibited when the application of the new waterproofing membrane system, to an area of 457m², was completed in five days.
