Isolation Water Testing & Water Leak Detection

What is Isolation Water Testing?

Quite often visual inspections alone cannot determine a leak source and therefore BUSS have adapted and implemented an effective Water Isolation Testing System that has been tried and tested.  It’s a safe and practical method of leak detection which recreates the leak under a controlled and regulated environment.   By nature, water manoeuvres across the path that offers the least resistance and to the lowest possible point, often resulting in the leak source being further away from where the water presents.  The BUSS team will systematically check all potential leak sources to ensure each pathway is addressed and investigated. Once the leak source has been identified, a report is generated and presented to the client so that repairs can be initiated. Developed in the field, this procedure has proven to be consistently successful and therefore backed by BUSS Group.

How much is a water leak detection test?

The cost of this test will vary by the scope of the investigation and location of the property.  In most cases having this investigation and finding the precise location of a leak offers a savings factor when it comes to the repairs.  You are welcome to contact BUSS’ professional waterproofing team who are available to provide you with a free quotation to complete the test.

Why are water leaks often a reoccurring problem?

A recurring water leak tends to be a problem after multiple contractors provide ‘quick fixes’ while the source of the leak remains undetected and consequently unresolved.  However, BUSS’ trained and experienced personnel will execute an Isolation Water Test to determine the root cause of the recurring water leak and provide an accurate and cost-effective repair methodology. The three main components of Isolation Water Testing include:

Sequencing

Utilising gravity to distinguish areas of water penetration.

Simulation

Reproducing natural weather events including rain and wind; and

Timing

Allow sufficient time for water to penetrate into the crack(s) and leaking to occur; the spraying time will replicate a natural volume of water.

How do you detect a water leak?

Most all water leaks can go unnoticed for a long time or until such time as property damage becomes visible.  Some of the signs for you to look out for include random wet patches, excessive water bills which are inexplicable, shortage of hot water, the sound of running water or low water pressure.  If you notice or experience any of the above, contact BUSS Group and our water leak detection experts will visit your property and determine the source of the problem and offer our repair services before the issue causes structural damage and repair costs increase.
