Riverview Apartments, located in the heart of South Perth, is a brick and concrete structure comprising of 63 apartments over 9 levels.


An inspection of the structure was completed by a registered building company in December 2019 and a 10 Year Maintenance Plan developed. As part of the required maintenance works, BUSS was engaged by GVM Solutions, on behalf of the Council of Owners, to complete remediation works to parts of the structure.


In July 2021, the BUSS team mobilised to site to complete the following work scope:
• Removal of damaged and deteriorated mortar;
• Brick repointing;
• Application of water repelling sealant to the masonry wall of the west facing façade;
• Concrete repair to undercover carpark area and external carpark area; and
• Crack injection to undercover carpark soffit.

POINTS OF INTEREST:

  • To avoid accessing the work area via tenanted apartments, a specialised access system was erected externally to the structure;
  • More than 750m² of bricks were remediated and sealed; and
  • The works were successfully completed within budget and on schedule.
